What is love?

Love is… Something that has no face, no body, no anything. You feel it. You can’t question it. You cannot look for love; it has to find you by itself. Unexpectedly, with no help at all. If you seek, you will not find true feelings.

If you have to ask yourself if he’s the one, if you love him, then you don’t. Love is something that hits you like a sack— it binds you, constricts you, turns your insides.

It makes you cold, it makes you smile. It makes you feel like you’re on top of the world, like nothing can hurt you. That as long as the person you love is standing besides you, you are invincible.

Love is painful… Falling out of love is the worst. Love is the best thing that can ever happen to a person. Love isn’t to be feared. Love is something that, if you fear it, it will not get any better easier. Love is not something that is to be taken lightly.

Love conquers fear. It destroys buildings and boundaries set by people who don’t believe as strongly as you do. Love defies race, defies the laws of nature, defies everything humanity has ever stood for. Love starts wars, ends wars, ends lives, begins lives, brings joy, brings sorrow, brings everything that anybody has ever felt.

Love is why people write music. Love is what makes things beautiful. Love is what I feel right now as I’m writing this.

Love is warm. It’s like a syrup that sits heavy in your stomach and doesn’t leave with the rest of the feelings out your mental digestive system. Love is so warm and comforting, that it should be mentioned twice. Love can’t be brought by words. You can’t make it appear out of no where. Love starts in the soul and branches out into the body.

Love and lust are easily confused. Love is everything lust is not. Love is pure. Lust is angry. Love is gentle. Lust is hard to get around. Love is everything. Lust is what destroys that everything. Love should be there from the start. Lust keeps people who don’t belong together together, simply because they have had a physical connection before. Lust is what kills relationships. Lust is what kills people.

Love can save you from anything, including yourself. Love is a gift. Love is everything anybody should ever want. Love should not be feared, because it is natural. People cannot fear love—it is a human emotion. People fear the pain associated with love; the breaking up, the leaving, the good bye. Sometimes, people make good-byes come much too soon because they are terrified of their own insecurities. Love is an insecurity; it makes you weak because you suddenly find yourself dependant on the person. That is why we must love more than one person at a time.

You must only be in love with one person at a time. There are different kinds of love: brotherly, platonic, unconditional, physical, emotional, and then there’s being in love. Each love feels similar— it’s how we interpret them. I know very well how I feel. I have been exposed to every one of these types of love.

Love has kept me alive. I am not afraid of love. Love, love, love… It’s definitely scary, but I know I’m strong enough to feel this way again.

Love is an emotional dependence. Love is a physical need. Love is what keeps us quiet. Love is what makes us scream. Love is important. Love is nothing at all. Love is what brought us into the world; love of the chase, love of the significant other, one-sided love… You name it.

Love is like the ocean.

Love is the best thing that ever happened to me.

Love has never failed.
